About ASA-CF Filament
ASA-CF is a base plastic filled with chopped carbon fiber. The fibers make parts stiffer and more dimensionally stable than the unfilled material, but they are abrasive: every carbon fiber filament needs a hardened steel or other wear resistant nozzle. Read the carbon fiber filament guide →
About the base material: ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) is an ABS relative built for the outdoors. Its standout property is UV stability: it resists yellowing and cracking in sun and weather, making it the go-to for outdoor fixtures, signage, and exterior automotive parts. Like ABS it prints best in an enclosure with good ventilation.
