About TPU-GF Filament
TPU-GF is a base plastic filled with chopped glass fiber. The fibers make parts stiffer and more dimensionally stable than the unfilled material, but they are abrasive: every glass fiber filament needs a hardened steel or other wear resistant nozzle. Read the glass fiber filament guide →
About the base material: TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is a flexible, rubber-like filament used for phone cases, gaskets, seals, and vibration dampers. It prints at moderate temperatures but needs a slow, steady feed, and a direct-drive extruder handles it far better than a Bowden setup. Softer grades (lower shore hardness) are more elastic and harder to print.
