Nylon (polyamide, PA) is a tough, wear-resistant engineering material for gears, hinges, and high-stress mechanical parts, and it is often reinforced with carbon or glass fiber for stiffness. It is strongly hygroscopic: nylon absorbs moisture from the air quickly, so it must be dried before printing and kept in a dry box for good results.
