About PCTG-GF Filament
PCTG-GF is a base plastic filled with chopped glass fiber. The fibers make parts stiffer and more dimensionally stable than the unfilled material, but they are abrasive: every glass fiber filament needs a hardened steel or other wear resistant nozzle. Read the glass fiber filament guide →
About the base material: PCTG is a glycol-modified copolyester often described as a step up from PETG: better impact resistance, clearer parts, and stronger chemical resistance, while printing at similar or slightly higher temperatures than PETG and without a heated chamber. It also absorbs less moisture than PETG, which makes it more forgiving to store. The tradeoff is availability: fewer brands carry it than PETG, usually at a premium.
