Product Details

  • Improved layer adhesion, capable of making water tight 3d prints. Increased layer adhesion improves the strength of parts printed with PCTG MAX
  • Increased temperature resistance, the heat distortion temperature of PCTG MAX is 100℃ / 212℉!!
  • Superior chemical resistance! Excellent resistance to oils and solvents, detergents, alcohols, moderate acids, strong bases, and hydrocarbons. Test compatibility for critical applications. Acetone, strong acids can soften material over time.
  • Vastly improved flexibility, ductility, and impact resistance. PCTG MAX is a very tough material that resists cracking and fracturing. This is a great improvement from the brittleness of standard PETG.
  • Transparent PCTG has amazing optical clairity, and very high light transmission properties. Great for lenses, diffusers, windows, etc.
  • PCTG MAX is very low fuming and a low odor producing filament.
  • PCTG MAX has very high dimensional stability, low shrinkage, low warping, and very resistant to creep over time. This makes PCTG MAX great for high precision, low tolerance, and critical parts in demanding applications.
  • PCTG MAX is an engineering grade material that can be printed on an open 3d printer without the need of an enclosure. PCTG bridges the gap between the printability of PETG / PLA and the engineering grade performance of Polycarbonate and Nylon filaments.
  • PCTG MAX absorbs less water than PETG and PCTG MAX will perform better when wet compared to PETG. SpoolHaus always recommends drying filament and using proper storage when possible to achieve the best results.
  • PCTG MAX is an improved material over PETG in almost every way. It has very few downsides apart from its higher cost and more limited availabilty.

Printing SPOOLHAUS PCTG

SPOOLHAUS PCTG in Glow Blue runs on the PCTG profile below, and this listing is a 1kg spool. PCTG is best suited to tough, clear functional parts that need more impact resistance than PETG. Brands and even individual spools vary, so treat these as starting points and run a quick temperature tower to lock in the sweet spot for your printer.

Ranges checked against Fiberlogy, 3D-Fuel and Essentium data. Heat resistance is the heat deflection temperature (HDT). Read our PCTG filament guide for bed adhesion, drying, troubleshooting, and material-specific tips.

Nozzle Compatibility

This listing includes glow-in-the-dark filament. The phosphorescent pigment that makes it glow is hard and wears brass nozzles quickly, even though the filament looks like ordinary plastic. Use hardened steel or another wear resistant nozzle, starting about 5 to 10°C hotter than with brass.
