- Lightweight Carbon Fiber Nylon: Long-chain PA12 reinforced with 10% carbon fiber provides a balanced combination of strength, rigidity, dimensional stability, and low density for brackets, tools, jigs, fixtures, RC parts, and durable functional components.
- More Stable than PA6-Based Nylon: PA12-CF10 absorbs less moisture than PA6/66 and PA6-based carbon fiber materials, helping maintain more consistent dimensions and mechanical properties in changing humidity. Keep sealed and dry for reliable printing.
- Engineered Heat Performance: After annealing at 100°C for 16 hours, test specimens reach an HDT of 131°C at 0.45 MPa and 105°C at 1.8 MPa. These results are not continuous-use temperature ratings; actual performance depends on load, geometry, moisture, and print orientation.
- Use an All-Metal Hotend and Hardened Nozzle: Print at 280–300°C with a 40–50°C build plate and the cooling fan off. A heated chamber is not required. Carbon fiber is abrasive, so use a hardened steel, ruby, or other wear-resistant nozzle. Speeds up to 300mm/s are possible after calibration.
- Keep Dry and Plan for Final Dimensions: If the filament has absorbed moisture, dry at 100°C for 10 hours and print from a dry box when possible. For load-bearing parts, position the main load along the XY plane. Remove same-material supports before moisture absorption and verify dimensions after annealing.
