ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is a durable, heat-resistant engineering plastic used for enclosures, automotive parts, and mechanical components. It needs a heated bed and, in practice, an enclosure to control warping, plus good ventilation for its fumes. In return it handles noticeably more heat than PLA or PETG and holds up better to impact than PLA.
Best for durable, heat-resistant parts like enclosures and automotive components printed in a controlled chamber.
Based on Bambu Lab and Prusa guidance. See the nozzle types guide for brass vs hardened steel.
