Printing BIQU ASA-CF

BIQU ASA-CF in Black is ASA filled with chopped carbon fiber, and this listing is a 1kg spool. The fibers make parts stiffer and more dimensionally stable than plain ASA, but they are abrasive, so a hardened nozzle is mandatory (see nozzle compatibility below). Few makers publish separate ASA-CF settings, so the ranges below are for plain ASA; expect to print toward the top of them. Brands and even individual spools vary, so treat these as starting points and run a quick temperature tower to lock in the sweet spot for your printer.

Nozzle Compatibility

Carbon fiber is abrasive and wears brass (and stainless) nozzles out of round, sometimes within a single spool. Use hardened steel or another wear resistant nozzle such as ruby or tungsten carbide. With hardened steel, start about 5 to 10°C hotter than you would with brass.

Nozzle type
Hardened steel
0.2 mm
Cannot use
Fibers clog it.
0.4 mm
Can use
Standard only, not high flow.
0.6 mm
Can use
Fewer clogs and less wear.
0.8 mm
Can use
Large, fast parts.
