Product Details

  • This product complies with all domestic regulatory requirements. As a domestic company, we are required to meet US laws and regulations. Full documentation available.
  • Certified Food Grade and Food Contact Safe: Extruded from REVODE110 Polylactic Acid Resin. Naturally derived from renewable plant resources. CARBON PLA+ Filament is Food Grade Tested by both TÜV SÜD and SGS with reference to 21 CFR 175.300 of The U.S. Food & Drug Administration Code of Federal Regulations (FDA 21 CFR 175.300). Report included in listing images. REVODE110 has a low carbon footprint, is a renewable, low order and environmentally friendly, reducing white pollution.
  • Lab Tested & FDA Listed: Most PLA Filaments are not safe for contact with food. To be considered Food Grade the Material must meet certain chemical requirements, which are specified by the FDA Code of Federal Regulations. The Material must also be listed with the FDA. The Material should be Laboratory tested in accordance with FDA 21 CFR 175.300. PLA+ filaments can be produced from Food Grade and Non-Food Grade Raw Materials. CARBON by Comfy Materials PLA+ is lab tested by both TÜV SÜD and SGS, in compliance with FDA 21 CFR 175.300.
  • Professional Packaging & Compatibility: All Comfy Materials products are manufactured to strict quality standards and are sealed with tamper-evident packaging. Every item leaves our facility sealed, dry, and fully operational. For order handling inquiries, please utilize your standard account options. Comfy Materials is available for technical product questions.
  • Smooth Printing: REVODE110 is one of the easiest resins to extrude and thermoform with. Advanced CCD diameter measuring and self-adaptive control system in the manufacturing produces PLA+ filaments of 1.75 mm diameter, with dimensional accuracy of: +/- 0.02 mm. A stable dimensional accuracy ensures a smooth feeding experience.
  • Mechanical Properties and Consistency: Use REVODE Polyactic Acid Resin for both 3D Printing and Injection Molding. CARBON by Comfy Materials PLA+ maintains Mechanical Consistency throughout your Project. Tensile strength (X-Y): 35 ± 1.1 (MPa), Deflection Temperature: @0.455 MPa (66 psi) D 648 61.5 °C (142.7 °F), Processing Melt Temperature: 190-220 °C.
  • Printing Temp and Nozzle Recommendation: Recommended Extrusion/Nozzle Temperature: 190°C - 220°C. We recommend replacing your brass nozzle with a stainless steel nozzle and using an all-metal hot end. Brass nozzles run the risk of containing lead, which can be dangerous for your health if consumed.
  • Food Safe Suggestions: We suggest that you use a stainless steel nozzle and a stainless steel all-metal hot-end. Use a separate nozzle and hot end for Food Grade models. A second hot-end will keep your Food-Grade prints free from contaminants. Food Safe Slicing and Model Finishing: Depending on your slicing methods, your 3d Printing Machine, your finishing process, and your intended usage, the Food Safe Quality of your end product may change. Be sure to properly finish your models and use an appropriate sanitizer between uses of your end product. Printing solid models is advised.
  • Difference Between Food Grade and Food Safe: Food-Grade means that the material is fit for human consumption or permitted to come into contact with food. Food-Safe means that the Food-Grade material is also fit for purpose, for its intended use, and will not create a food-safety hazard. For example, it may be fit for purpose to use a Food-Grade container to hold a dry ingredient, but that same container may not be fit for purpose to be used to hold a hot liquid.
  • Food Safe Considerations: Just because a material is permitted to come into contact with food does not necessarily mean it is Food-Safe. Our Filament is Food Grade, and without modification is also Food Safe. Once the Filament is molded or extruded into a new shape, by the end user, the Food Safe Qualities need to be reassessed. For example: PLA is not rated for oven temperatures. Using this plastic to make muffin tins would not be a Food Safe application.
