Product Details

  • PRE-FOAMED PLA FILAMENT: Typical density is 0.9 g/cm3. Its lightweight structure forms before printing, so it does not rely on in-nozzle expansion like active-foaming filaments
  • RC AIRCRAFT APPLICATIONS: Print wings, airframes and other parts where weight matters. The matte surface softens layer lines; final part weight also depends on walls, infill and geometry
  • TDS STARTING SETTINGS: With a 0.4mm nozzle, use 190-210°C nozzle, 25-60°C bed and 50-100mm/s speed. Turn the part-cooling fan on; an enclosed chamber is not required
  • TUNE FOR YOUR PRINTER: Test a small part first. If you see stringing or poor first-layer adhesion, adjust temperature, retraction and bed setup. TDS retraction guidance: 3-6mm at 40-60mm/s.
  • POLYMAKER LW-PLA 0.8KG SPOOL: Net filament weight is 0.8kg. Store dry; if moisture affects printing, the TDS recommends drying at 55°C for 6 hours. Check spool clearance in multi-material feeders

Printing Polymaker PLA

Polymaker PLA in Matte Wood runs on the PLA profile below, and this listing is a 0.8kg spool. PLA is best suited to light parts such as RC aircraft, cosplay props and large display pieces. Brands and even individual spools vary, so treat these as starting points and run a quick temperature tower to lock in the sweet spot for your printer.

Nozzle Compatibility

This is an unfilled plastic, so it is not abrasive: a brass nozzle works and lasts, and so does hardened steel. With hardened steel, print about 5 to 10°C hotter.
