Printing Bambu Lab ABS-GF

Bambu Lab ABS-GF in Red is ABS filled with chopped glass fiber, and this listing is a 1kg spool. The fibers make parts stiffer and more dimensionally stable than plain ABS, but they are abrasive, so a hardened nozzle is mandatory (see nozzle compatibility below). The ranges below are for ABS-GF, which usually prints a little hotter than plain ABS. ABS-GF is best suited to stiff, heat-resistant parts with less warping than plain ABS. Brands and even individual spools vary, so treat these as starting points and run a quick temperature tower to lock in the sweet spot for your printer.

Nozzle Compatibility

Glass fiber is abrasive and wears brass (and stainless) nozzles out of round, sometimes within a single spool. Use hardened steel or another wear resistant nozzle such as ruby or tungsten carbide. With hardened steel, start about 5 to 10°C hotter than you would with brass.

Nozzle type
Hardened steel
