SUNLU expands US manufacturing for its 13th anniversary

BRAND Published July 29, 2026

SUNLU marked 13 years in business this July by expanding its factory infrastructure in the United States, a move aimed at getting filament to American buyers faster. The company paired the announcement with a month-long storewide sale and a large filament giveaway.

A bigger US footprint

SUNLU says it is expanding its US factory infrastructure to improve product availability, shorten delivery times, and provide faster service to its growing US customer base. The company did not disclose the facility's location, size, or a timeline, so the practical scale of the expansion is not yet clear.

Founded in 2013 and based in Zhuhai, SUNLU runs more than 270 production lines and says it has sold over 25 million products across filament, resin, and accessories. That volume makes it one of the larger value-focused filament makers selling into the US market, so where and how it builds domestic capacity carries weight for buyers who compare on both price and delivery.

What this means for buyers

For US customers, a larger domestic operation generally points to shorter shipping times, steadier stock, and less exposure to import tariffs and freight swings. SUNLU has not shared specifics yet, so treat this as a signal of direction rather than a guaranteed change to today's shipping estimates.

The anniversary sale

SUNLU is running a storewide anniversary sale from July 1 to July 31, 2026. On its own store, engineering-grade filaments are discounted up to 20%, while bulk pricing brings basic PLA from $9.53 per kilogram on orders of ten or more spools, high-speed filaments from $10.16 per kilogram, and aesthetic finishes from $13.99 per kilogram on orders of six or more. Mix-and-match bundles start at $9.53 per kilogram, and the company is running blind-box mystery deals and double loyalty points on select items.

The wider anniversary campaign also includes a giveaway of 10,000 rolls of filament and prizes for 100 selected users. If you print SUNLU regularly, it is worth comparing the bulk-tier pricing against current listings for SUNLU on the tracker before the window closes, since bulk and single-spool value can diverge sharply. Our price-per-kilogram guide explains why cost per kilogram, not sticker price, is the number to watch.

Where SUNLU sits in the market

SUNLU is one of several value brands that have gained ground in the desktop filament market, competing hardest on PLA listings and its high-speed PLA range, with a growing PETG lineup. A domestic manufacturing push, if it delivers on faster US availability, would strengthen that position against both budget rivals and premium brands. SUNLU also used the anniversary to launch the AMS Lite Heater on July 20, 2026, a drying add-on for Bambu Lab's AMS Lite that dries filament while printing and lists compatibility with PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PA, and PC.
